Band Earns Grand Championship at Atlanta BOA Super-Regionals

Atlanta, Georgia - Performing
their 2009 show, "The Trilogy", the 138 marching band
students of the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory of the Arts
earned the Grand Championship at the Bands of America Super-Regional
Competition at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia on October 31,
2009. Competing against 42 bands from the southeast, Tarpon Springs,
one of only 4 bands from the state of Florida, advanced through
the preliminary competion mid-day on Saturday. Tarpon was one of
twelve (12) bands that ultimately advanced to the finals on Saturday
night, among some of the largest and most accomplished bands in
the region..
Tarpon Springs
was also earned "Outstanding Music Performance" (tied
with Kennesaw Mountain HS), "Outstanding Visual Performance",
and "Outstanding General Effect" awards in the competition.
We want to
exend a sincere THANK YOU to all of our corporate and individual
supporters, parents, and instructors who graciously contributed
their time, effort, and money to make this wonderful experience
possible for our students. Without you, this nationally accomplished
program that focuses on character and integrity in our students
could not provide these life-changing experiences for our youth!
