The Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for
the Arts Magnet Program provides this outstanding
opportunity for students in Pinellas County. Built on the success
and foundation of our nationally
acclaimed Tarpon Springs Leadership and Music Conservatory,
this program provides our youth with the right tools and constructive
environment to allow them to explore, shape, and clearly articulate
their own vision for the future. Students develop leadership skills,
receive advanced instruction in the visual and performing arts,
learn the effective use of technology, and undertake challenging
academics.
The mission of the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory
for the Art Magnet Program is to provide youth with the right tools
and an environment that allows them to explore, shape and clearly
articulate from a point of experience their visions
for their futures through the integration of Leadership, Academics,
Technology, and the Arts.
This proposal was completed in September 2007
by a select committee of school administrators, teachers, parents,
student representatives, and community leaders and has been presented
to the Pinellas County School Board for consideration. Implementation
will be dependent upon School Board direction and funding priorities,
among other factors.
